Dear Parents and Students,

I had a chance to talk with many parents on Parents’ Day last Saturday. They expressed deep gratitude for the special effort being made by the school to provide a comprehensive all-round learning experience for their daughters. Indeed, I thank our teachers for making learning more student-centered and unleashing students’ potential.

The school would like to further encourage students' reading habits and create an even better reading- friendly campus atmosphere. With this in mind an English book fair was held last November and introduced famous women authors and their works. This week is reading week. The Reading Committee has prepared a publication "Bookcases" with the theme of career planning in which career sharing, working attitude and workplace etiquette are introduced. Besides this, a two-day Chinese book fair will be held for students to choose their favourite books. Following the PTA promotion of the memoir "I am Malala" last year, they are promoting another female memoir 'Bound Feet and Western Dress” about Chang Yi-I’s life story in traditional Chinese feudal society. Women were considered insignificant in those days. She turned challenges into opportunities. She rose to occasion after occasion, remaining humble as hurdles fell one after another. This is the story of a woman’s triumph undreamt of in those days.

We hope that this reading promotion will encourage the students to be tolerant, patient and positive in the face of adversity. You may also join us in encouraging your daughter to enjoy reading.

Best regards,
Constance Cheung
Principal
