21 April 2016

Dear Parents and Students,

A movie appreciation activity “The Taste of Youth” which was co-organised by PTA and the HK Federation of Youth Groups, was held successfully on 17 April. The film reflects the aspirations of different teenagers in pursuing their dreams and also deals with their frustrations.  I encourage parents and daughters to put themselves in each other’s shoes and show empathy towards each other , so that we can develop the love, care, respect and support all teenagers need in order to unleash their potential and build their self-esteem.

Over a hundred students are rehearsing in full swing for the May 6 Arts in Action 2016. Their faces are filled with joy and confidence when they practice, as if they are telling us that “We're ready”. Performances in Arts in Action include music, percussion, dance, a cappella, visual arts and, most importantly, our musical "Mamma Mia!". This is our 10th musical. We believe that the aesthetic development of students is important to enhance their sense of arts appreciation, self-confidence and performance potential.

Finally, the school would like to share two recent pieces of good news. S4 and S5 students took part in the JA Company Programme -Achievement Hong Kong. Under the guidance of volunteer advisers, students started a small-scale business to develop their entrepreneurship, teamwork and leadership. Out of more than 70 schools, we were one of the 6 finalists. So Ho-Ying of S5 won a CP Achiever Award and will represent Hong Kong at the Next Generation Leaders (NGL) Forum in Canada this summer. Besides, the two students and Chu Yee-Lai and Tam Tze-Yiu of S2 won Gold and Bronze awards respectively in the "Elite Chinese Language Programme 2015/2016 " jointly organized by the China Institute of Language Education and Research Bureau. Chu Yee-Lai will represent Hong Kong on an exchange in Nanjing and Yangzhou, visiting local educational institutions. Congratulations to all concerned. Glory to God!

Best regards,
