Dear Parents and Students,

Recently, the weather has been unstable; sometimes it's rainy, sometimes it's sunny. Last Wednesday, a sudden red and black rainstorm pummelled Kowloon City from 3:45 to 4:45. In that one hour, 44 to 88 mm of rain fell in what was one of the most severe rain storms to hit Hong Kong on that day. It was absolutely unsafe for students to leave the school premises in this situation. Our girls waited patiently on campus for lighter rain.

“Waiting” is an important lesson for people to learn - especially waiting for God’s will. When we learn from news reports that arrogant, impulsive and childish misbehavior from some young people can lead to serious consequences, we know we have to teach the next generation to learn the wisdom of waiting, relying on God but not others, learning Jesus’ teachings and thinking twice before we act.

We thank God for wonderful weather last Saturday after the T8 signal was hoisted on Friday. More than 300 parents and teachers participated in the 23rd AGM of the Parent-Teacher Association and election of Parent Managers for the IMC, followed by parent/teacher meetings. Congratulations to Mr. Shum Chi-ho on becoming a Parent Manager while Mr. Chung Kai-kwan will be an alternate Parent Manager.

Life is like the weather, full of changes. Sometimes it's rainy, sometimes it's sunny, and we have to go on and accept what’s there in front of us. The theme of this school year, "Renew our strength and soar like eagles" is about teaching our girls to face challenges and difficulties with courage and rely on God. Never be afraid of change. Let’s work together to nurture our girls.

Best regards,
Constance Cheung
