9 March 2017

Dear Parents and Students,

House flags have been hoisted around the school hall to celebrate the 129th anniversary of our school. Each house flag is not only a flag, but also the footprint of God’s grace to Pooi To over the last century. The Student Union will firstly lead our students to celebrate on 10th March after which an Anniversary Service will be held in the afternoon. These events help our current Pooi To community to praise our God for His almighty work, to remember past Principals and teachers for nurturing our Pooi To Girls and to keep in our minds the spirit of “Love, Integrity, Purity and Perseverance” so that we may express these qualities in our lives.

Alumni Homecoming Day which is usually held on the second Saturday in March will be on 11th March. We are delighted to learn that around 70 of our 1967 graduates from many different countries returned to Hong Kong to celebrate their Golden Jubilee in Pooi To. They will have a Guangzhou trip afterwards to visit the roots of their alma mater. Their hearts are deeply moved by Pooi To and I hope this Pooi To Spirit can go on for ever and ever.

I would like to congratulate our Athletics Team which got Second in Grade B and 9th overall in the Inter-school Athletic Competition (Division 2). We were Champions in 400 m race, 800 m race, 1500 m race and 4 × 400 m relay in Grade B. On another matter, we also entered the final 10 teams in the "Youth Geological Conservation Ambassador Scheme". Well done. Keep this spirit up.

Best wishes,
Constance Cheung
Principal

But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.
(2 Corinthians 4:7-9)
