Dear Parents and Students,

“Love” is the core Christian value. As the Bible says, "We love because God first loved us." 1 John 4:19.

“Loving ourselves” is accepting ourselves for what we are and accepting the reality of what we face. If people always compare themselves with others, their self-confidence weakens. As the Bible says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." Proverbs 4:23. As long as their intention and ideas are pure, people don’t need to make such comparisons. Pooi To nurtures students to unleash their potential according to their different characters, abilities, exposure and strength so that they can have more positive energy and understanding and be more forgiving. In this way, they can lead a glorious, joyful and meaningful life.

“Loving others” is also important to enrich people’s lives. In Pooi To, the harmonious and close relationships between teachers and students is evident. This is a blessing from God. Besides, peer support among students is strong. They care about their peers and their community, work closely together, support one another and learn from each other. This caring attitude doesn’t only show up in current students, but also the alumni. Last Saturday, the Alumni Association held the Mid-Autumn Festival Gathering. Many alumni came back to school and enjoyed the gathering with delicious food and funny games. The atmosphere was warm and relaxing.

One lyric of the theme hymn for our 130th anniversary is “Please look back and see God’s grace is with us all the way. His love never leaves us..." Yes, I couldn’t agree more. His love never leaves us. The laughter of teachers and students in Pooi To campus is everywhere. It has been our pride for these 130 years.
