Dear Parents and Students,

Pooi To has a long history in girls’ education. In addition to teaching knowledge and skills to students, we focus on whole person development so that students can live with our school motto “Love, Integrity, Purity and Perseverance” in their lives.

“Integrity” means honesty and truthfulness.  Mr Wan Yiu-bun, a previous Principal mentioned that “a person with integrity can succeed in everything. Integrity is the key for a person or a project to develop in a healthy way.”

Looking back in history, it seems that people without integrity are constantly challenging the stability of our Society; there are many instances of corrupt politicians and dishonest business tsars causing calamity such as the subprime financial crisis and ensuing financial tsunami. Besides, telling lies, sex outside marriage, fraud and other acts are also commonly found in our daily news. Pooi To upholds the Bible to teach our students: “Speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” (Ephesians 4: 15-16). Students learn to use the wisdom from the Bible to tell and act the truth for the sake of supporting each other. Let’s work hand in hand to nurture the girls to “become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” (Philippians 2:15)

On a celebratory note, we would like to invite you to attend the "24th PTA Inauguration Ceremony and AGM" on October 14, so that you can learn more about the work of the PTA. It is followed by a “Teacher-parent gathering” so that parents can meet with the class teachers to understand your daughter's learning in school. The "Midterm Report on Students’ Academic Performance" will be issued on 23 November so that parents can track their daughter's learning progress and tap into the support provided when necessary.

Best regards,
Constance Cheung
Principal
