Dear Parents and Students,

The school is a place to learn and to grow. We have always encouraged students to build a solid foundation of knowledge, to cultivate their positive attitude towards life and to develop a global perspective. After all, students can and should become critical and independent thinkers, who can think in multiple dimensions, can distinguish between relative and absolute agreement with rational reasoning, andmost importantly, can respect and understand different opinions in society. The Bible says: "But nowadays, I am temporarily sorrowed in all kinds of trials. Let your faith be tested, and it will be more precious than the gold that is tested by fire and still broken. It can be seen when Jesus Christ appears. Praise, glory, and honor." (1 Peter 1:6-7)

Our teachers continue to walk with our students and encourage them to analyze controversial issues objectively and fairly. However, the thing that we are most concerned about is the emotional state of our students. We will offer prompt counseling and assistance when needed, and provide timely advice. The recent social issues may stir up emotional feelings among students, but it doesn’t mean that they can harm themselves or others. We need to work with parents closely. It is advised that parents listen to their daughters' views and feelings, respect each other, remain calm and maintain harmonious communication.
Please remind your daughters to express their views in a peaceful and law-abiding manner, and understand the potential risks and dangers that may be hidden. If your daughter has any emotional problems, please contact the school immediately so that we can give timely support or refer them to our social workers for an immediate follow-up.

Pooi To respects the will of each individual but we cannot impose personal opinions and choices on others. It is something that I regularly remind myself of. Of course, sometimes I may struggle, and when I do I pray to God to get wisdom from Him.

"At the time of the flood, the Lord sat as King. The Lord sat for King, forever. The Lord will give strength to his people, and the Lord will give peace to his people.” (Psalm 29:10-11)

"Dear Heavenly Father, we pray for Hong Kong. May your righteousness be showered over our place, because You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. You understand our difficulties and challenges. We may feel worried, disappointed, upset and frustrated. God, may your healing hand and love cure our scars, and rebuild our unity, togetherness and trustfulness.

May your wisdom help us distinguish between good and evil, and guide our actions so as not to demolish or hurt, but to build and repair. May your transcending peace and faith be with us for now and ever. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen. "

Best regards,
Constance Cheung
Principal
