Dear Parents and Students,

The HKDSE, which was delayed due to the spread of the epidemic in March, was officially launched onApril 26. It has indeed been a difficult year for the current Secondary 6 students. The social unrest, which affected the progress of teaching, was followed by the outbreak of COVID-19. Because of this the mock exams that were going on at the time had to stop because of the suspension of classes. Fortunately, our girls completed the mock
examinations of four core subjects, but the elective subjects had to be assessed at home. We are very pleased with the students as they made the most of the circumstances at hand and attempted the mock exams in a serious manner as if they were in school, submitting their answer sheets on time. Afterwards, the teachers conducted online teaching and checked exam papers for the S6 girls, explaining the key points and test-taking strategies of the exam papers, analyzing the key points and assisting students with strategies. This was then the milestone for developing online teaching for the Secondary 1 to 5 students in March.

During the days of suspension, we understand that the S6 students have to prepare for the HKDSE exam, in addition to the fight against the epidemic, at home. This is a tough time for them. We keep praying to God for the S6 students by walking with them in times of difficulty and giving them extra strength and transcending peace. The Bible says: "Although I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I am not afraid of being hurt, because you are with me; your rod and your staff comfort me." Psalm 23: 4. We thank God for listening to our prayers for the HKDSE exam to start smoothly, and Hong Kong has had 0 cases for 5 consecutive days, which may offer some relief to the S6 students. We have recently received a lot of encouragement for S6 students, hoping that they will know that everyone in the Pooi To family is supporting them, including encouragement from

‧PTA: “Be tough and persistent!Reach an outstanding and excellent performance!”

‧Student representatives from the School Choir, A Cappella team and Musical Team, who sang the poem "Enlightening Life" at home to cheer up our S6 sisters.

The lyrics say "The Lord's grace is magnificent and vast, and the mountains and valleys may be afraid to go forward; but be firm and courageous by faith and love, and ignite the hope in my heart; you will walk through the road and run towards the mark!

The COVID-19 pandemic seems to have flattened; however, we still have to face a troubled economy, a rising unemployment rate and social conflicts. Facing the wave of unpredictable difficulties, everyone should rely more on God, grasp their clear direction and firm goals, and not follow the flow. Although the road is difficult, just step by step, by upholding school motto “love, integrity, purity and perseverance”, you can overcome all difficulties and find your own way.

Last but not least, the Education Bureau has announced that the resumption of classes is just around the corner, and with this news the school is preparing the logistics for the resumption of classes. When the EDB finalizes the date of class resumption, we will inform you of the school arrangements.

May God bless you.

Best regards,
Constance Cheung
