Dear Parents and Students,

“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ,
after you have suffered a little while,
will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” (1 Peter 5:10)

Modern advancements have brought us high-speed communication technologies, the accelerating traffic of goods and a plethora of new ideas and conveniences. The world has become truly global with modern technology playing a key role in both our personal lives and the world of commerce. However, the improper use of technology, which has become evident with social networking, online security and personal privacy, can also be damaging if wisdom and integrity is not deployed. Therefore, no matter how fast the internet changes the world, always remember that God’s words and morality should be upheld in both the real and virtual worlds.

We have to humble ourselves no matter what happens, will God cast our impurity aside and lift us up. It may be easier to follow our mind, our desire and our ambition, but these are not what God wants. Only by putting ourselves to God’s plan, will He make us strong and firm to overcome the challenges that life puts in front of us.

In order to face the competitive and ethical challenges of modern society, students have to understand key topics of global significance like national identity, history, business and entrepreneurship, science, the environment, the Bible and other domains that may equip them with a solid knowledge base for developing independent and critical thinking and for their future careers. Education plays an important role this. It helps students recognise different perspectives, both that of others’ and their own, and articulate and explain such perspectives thoughtfully and respectfully. It also helps students embrace the values behind a globally-focused adventure, equipping them with God’s values, and the knowledge and skills necessary to confront the challenges of the world.
