Parent text comments

  • Appreciation for the school as a whole. (40 parents have similar opinions)

        Example:

  • Under the pandemic, my daughter maintains effective learning activities, study in textbooks, participates in extracurricular activities, and balances all aspects of learning. It is helpful for students' development! Thank you very much Principal and teachers for their hard work! (×13)
  • I am grateful that my daughter can meet good teachers, who are serious and lively in teaching. In the face of the adversity of the pandemic, not only are they focused on teaching, but they also cared about the character formation of students. I appreciate that the teacher provides extra lessons and is responsible. The class teachers are very responsible, attentive and caring. Parents can learn about the school and students through parents’ letters or talks with teachers. (×6)
  • I appreciate the school's moral education of students, and am very satisfied with your school's education policy and various activities arrangements, which can cater for different students' needs and provide diverse learning opportunities. Teachers can also timely explore students' potential, develop their strengths, and cultivate students' sense of responsibility and leadership to enable students to both learn and practice. (×5)
  • Under the pandemic, I appreciate the school's active response, and immediate issue effective information to inform parents of all aspects of the arrangement. (×2)
  • Areas for improvement
  • Too much homework for the special holiday in April. After the resumption of classes, the quizzes are too frequent, the dates for the uniform tests and exams are too tight, and they may not have enough time to review. (×5)
  • It is recommended that teachers ask more questions to their students or provide after-class tutoring when they are in the Zoom class. When using face-to-face classes, teachers can provide tutorial classes to follow up learners’ diversity. (×4)
  • Changing rooms should be built. Because the space in the toilet is too small for changing shirts, the hygiene of the toilets needs to be considered. (×3)
  • The amount of homework can be maintained during the pandemic, and homework can be handed in paperless, which is not only environmentally friendly, but also keeps pace with the times. It is suggested to allow students to bring laptops or ipads to class instead of taking notes by hand, making it easy for students to organize their notes. (×2)
  • Due to the pandemic, many activities cannot be carried out, and students cannot participate. I hope there will be better arrangements for the next school year. (×2)

I have read the feedback from the parents carefully. I would like to thank the parents for their support and appreciation for the school, and for their valuable comments, so that we can further optimize the development of the school.

In addition, the pandemic situation is still unstable, and students still need to be conscious. I encourage students to receive three doses of the vaccine, so that every member of the Pooi To family is protected. I would like to express my gratitude to two alumni, Kwok Ling-lai (1996) and Lam So-wai (2005), who are the current Legislative Council members, for donating rapid test kits to their alma mater on June, giving more protection to staff and students. Besides, we congratulate to S5 students for reaching 90% vaccination rate. However, the vaccination rate of S4 students has fallen behind, but S4 students will be promoted to S5 in the coming year that most of them will be student leaders in different positions. As a student leader, protecting the health of the whole school is of upmost important and setting a good example for our schoolmates is important. I hope that the students, especially S4 students, can continue to complete the three-dose vaccine.

Last but not least, our school swimming team participated in the Inter-School Swimming Championships (Division 3) on June 15, and won the women's overall champion, as well as the first runner-up in Grade A, the champions in both Grade B and Grade C. Congratulations to all students, PE teachers and coaches for their effort.

Best regards,
Constance Cheung
Principal
