Dear Parents and Students,

Now that the First Term Examination has finished, everyone can relax and enjoy the Chinese New Year holiday. Yesterday, I received some New Year’s flowers prepared by teachers and students from the Chinese Department. This flower art activity created an exciting atmosphere for the New Year, and students were able to learn about the Chinese flower arrangements and have fun with their schoolmates and teachers.

Due to the pandemic related restrictions, our traditional “Lunar New Year Fair” has not been held for the last three years. Today, the active participation of the whole school in the celebrations of the traditional festival lightened the joyous festival atmosphere in the hall, which included booths with homemade festive food, Fai Chun writing, Lantern Festival riddles, etc. There was great laughter all around as everyone looked forward to the Year of the Rabbit. May God bless our Pooi To Family members with joy and love.

To celebrate the 135th anniversary of Pooi To, the 135th Anniversary Opening Ceremony cum School Museum Re-opening Ceremony will be held on Saturday, 11th March, 2023. The guest of honor is Dr. Choi Yuk-Lin, JP, the Secretary for Education. The arrangements for the day are as follows:

Another highlight of our school celebration is the "135th Anniversary Arts in Action", which will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Jockey Club Auditorium. Up to 200 students will participate in music and dance performances in front of and behind the scenes. These include pop bands, the Orchestra, choirs, ensembles, Chinese dances, Jazz dance performances, and the highlight, our annual musical “Alice in Wonderland”. Students are working very hard rehearsing for the performance, and we can’t wait to see it. There will be two sessions on that day. Our students and those from invited primary schools will join the afternoon session, while the evening show will be open to the public. Everyone is welcome to buy tickets to give your daughter the greatest support.

I wish you all a healthy and happy Lunar New Year.

Best regards,
