23 February 2024

Dear Parents and Students,

This is the Year of the Loong, the Loong being most symbolic of the twelve Chinese zodiac animals. In Chinese culture, the Loong symbolizes excellence and distinction, flying in the clouds and mist in the sky. In order to welcome the arrival of the Year of the Loong, we held our annual "Lunar New Year Activity" on February 6. Teachers, students and parents actively participated, and the booths on site were very busy. This event is one of the traditional activities of our school and is enjoyed and loved by teachers and students every year.

On the day of the event, the School Hall was carefully decorated and filled with a festive atmosphere. We had several stalls set up for everyone to enjoy games and crafts. Dynamic games such as archery, curling, and pitching allowed students to show off their skills and experience the fun of sports. At the same time, we also prepared static activities such as writing about Hui Chun, Western calligraphy, guessing lantern riddles, paper-cutting, and making large vegetable cakes with colorful Chinese patterns. Students could also make PTMS or 2024 headbands, flower knotted bracelets, lucky envelopes, bamboo photo frames and other exquisite handicrafts. The students had a great time wandering among the stalls. They make handicrafts and participated in the games with great focus, showing endless creativity and enthusiasm. The whole hall was filled with laughter and cheers, and the atmosphere was very warm.

We would especially like to thank the PTA and the volunteer parents who made great contributions to this event. Not only did they help prepare the event, they also prepared a variety of delicious New Year snacks for everyone. While the students were tasting the delicious food, they could also feel the care and enthusiasm of their parents, which was really sweet. The entire campus was filled with festive joy. Students are cherishing the importance of traditional Chinese culture more and more and are creating lasting memories with their classmates.

In addition to games and craft stalls, we also paid attention to the importance of campus cleanliness and conducted a campus cleaning activity in the afternoon. Students actively participated in campus cleaning activities, sweeping away the dust of the old year and preparing for the new year. Through practical actions, we educate students on the importance of keeping the environment tidy and promote a sense of responsibility and respect for the environment.

In the new year, we will continue to strive to provide a rich and colorful learning experience so that students can develop academically, culturally and socially. We believe that through such activities and education, students will be able to fully realize their potential and make positive contributions to their future lives.

One of these experiences was the 75th Inter-School Speech Festival where we had 6 Champions, 5 First runner-ups, 4 Second runner-ups and 52 Merits, totaling 67 awards.
