Taiwan Geology and Environmental Conservation Tour

Dates: 27 June to 1 July 2018

Students had an illuminating time on this tour which was organized by the Geography Department and the Civil and Moral Education Committee; they delved into geology and environmental conservation in Taiwan. They were amazed when exploring the natural ecosystem at Yangmingshan National Park. Moreover, having taken a study trip to Yehliu Geopark, they saw distinctive geological features with their own eyes and fully understood how the beautiful landscape and rocks were formed. The breathtaking views piqued their curiosity about plate movement and formation of fault-line cliffs. The visit to Environmental Protection Bureau, Hualien County gave them a vivid picture of Taiwan’s environmental policy. The exchange and sharing session on environmental preservation was very rewarding. They were overjoyed to have been on such a wonderful study trip.
