The whole school thanked the Lord for the blessings he has bestowed upon Pooi To over the last 134 years. We praised the name of the Lord through recitation of the school prayer and hymn singing. Alumna Joey Cho shared her Christian life at school and her deep experience of the effect of God’s love and mercies on her studies and personal growth.

The  Principal, Ms Cheung, gave thanks for God’s grace and all His blessings on the former principals who were committed to girls’ education. Missionary Emma Young established ‘Pooi To Academy’ in Guangzhou for women to receive an education and to learn about Christianity, and the second principal, Mrs Rosewell H, Graves, devoted herself to serving Pooi To for 35 years. Our two alumnae, Ms. Lee Ching-sum and Ms. Helen Huen Wai-ning, the first and the second  principals in Hong Kong respectively, were committed to nurturing and providing a conducive learning environment for students. Ms Cheung also encouraged students to face the challenges with God’s strength and live each day with the school motto ‘Love, Integrity, Purity and Perseverance’.
