4 February 2016

Dear Parents and Students,

The Lunar New Year is coming. I wish you all good health and may God’s peace, joy and grace be with you all in this festive season and throughout the year.

We have now collected and processed parents’ views and suggestions on various matters from the feedback form issued in December. The feedback is mostly encouraging and positive. Thank you for your trust and appreciation regarding school development, teaching and student support. Parents’ suggestions and enquiries have been discussed at a meeting in the Principal’s Office. You will be informed of individual cases and queries on Parent’s Day. We hope that through various channels of communication with parents, we can further strengthen learning and teaching effectiveness.

Regarding the issue of homework which is used to consolidate students’ learning, we encourage students to manage their time efficiently and prioritize their work daily or weekly to ensure that it can be completed in a timely manner. Students are also encouraged to seek help from teachers to better understand their learning difficulties so that the teaching pace and assignments may be adjusted accordingly.

After-school support measures are also important and different programmes have been established to cater for learner diversity including Alumni tutorial groups, pre-exam study groups, tutorial classes, S1 GEMS programme for the elites in Mathematics and Science, S2 Excel Programme for the elites in Chinese, English and Mathematics. Subsidies will be provided to those students who have financial difficulties.

Parent’s Day will be held on 20th February. Parents will learn more about their daughters’ studies and conduct in school. Please recognize their efforts and encourage them to strive towards a higher goal.

Best regards,
Constance Cheung
Principal
