Dear Parents and Students,

Students and parents are always relieved when the examinations finish. We see our children work very hard for the exam and appreciate the effort they put into the learning process more than the outcome. Throughout this learning journey, our girls gain not only knowledge, but also the ability to endure, persevere, and never give up. They learn to support one another, to love and care and most importantly to trust in God. This is not only about learning attitude, but about how we live our lives. The Bible says, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” (James 1: 2-4)

Pooi To Primary School & Kindergarten are carrying out the construction of a new wing. The noisy work has been going on for 3 months. In order to avoid the noise and other hazards, school operations have been relocated to our campus for June and July. Our school (Secondary Section) was founded in 1954 in Inverness Road while the Primary Section was built in Fook Cheung Street, Ma Tau Cheung in 1967. We, the teachers and students from the Secondary, Primary and Kindergarten Sections can gather together again after more 60 years.

Coincidentally, this year is our 130th Anniversary celebration. What a wonderful and beautiful scene has God prepared for us? The Bible says, "If the Lord does not build the house, the builders will labor in vain; if the Lord is not in the city, the guard will be in vain." (Psalm 127: 1) I recall our reconstruction plan in 2009 and now the construction of the new wing in Primary Section so that we, secondary, primary and kindergarten can have a reunion in this special moment, I believe this is God’ plan. If this is not God’s plan, we can’t succeed. If we understand God’s will more, we can have a new perspective on the world and follow His way with love, peace and joy.

Last but not least, Our“Cheongsam Mentoring Scheme” has received a Certificate of Merit in the Hong Kong Arts Development Awards 2016 (School Division) in recognition of excellence in Arts Education. What we treasure most in this cheongsam scheme is the experience of connecting the alumni, current Pooi To girls and little brothers and sisters from different primary schools together to share the heritage of Cheongsams and the joy of making them. Praise be to the Lord.

Best wishes,
Constance Cheung
Principal
