15 March 2018

Dear Parents and Students,

I felt relieved after the last janitor finished his work on 3rd of March. I was really exhausted but excited. Different memorable scenes from the day still lingered in my mind. I guess the teachers, staff, workers, parents, alumni and all the students had the same feeling too.

Firstly, I would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Secretary for Education, Mr. Kevin Yeung Yun-hung, for officiating at the opening ceremony of our 130th Anniversary. In addition, I was grateful to the principals and deacons of the Baptist Convention of Hong Kong, representatives of our sister school “Guangzhou No. 7 Middle School”, principals and representatives of other schools, representatives of our working partners, guests, parents and alumni for celebrating with us and sharing our happiness. I am proud of our teachers and students who were dedicated and devoted as well as friendly and hospitable for the whole day.

I would also like to thank the Student Union for organizing a heartwarming event to celebrate the 130th Anniversary. All teachers and students were involved in making a collage to create a beautiful picture. In the afternoon, a thanksgiving service was held in the Kowloon City Baptist Church. I would like to give big thanks to Dr. Choi Yuen Wan Philemon for delivering the sermon and reminding us of the importance of upholding the school motto “Love, Integrity, Purity and Perseverance” through the Bible “We have proclaimed him with all wisdom, exhorting everyone, teaching everyone, and bringing every person to perfection in Christ. Before I went to God, I also labored and tried my best in accordance with the power he exerted in me.” Colossians 1:28-29. We are encouraged to remember God's Word and use his wisdom to gain the knowledge and build our resilience. Thank God for leading Pooi To through 130 years of grace. Praise be to the Lord. Hallelujah!

Best regards,
Constance Cheung
