26 April 2018

Dear Parents and Students,

The highlight of our 130th anniversary celebration is Arts in Action 2018 which will be held in the Jockey Club Auditorium at PolyU on 4-5 May 2018. We had our first full rehearsal in the afternoon after the Swimming Gala. Almost 200 students were involved up front and backstage. They were working out their roles and supporting each other, patiently and flexibly. The musical “The Year of Festival” opens in Pooi To Middle School, Hong Kong in the year 2017. The play follows a group of pupils who are about to face their greatest challenge – DSE, career goals and further studies. They start a magical journey – they travel back in time, embark on an adventure of self-discovery and learn a lesson of paramount importance – to uphold the virtues of love, integrity, purity and perseverance. It is a year of festival which allows everyone to celebrate their growth in life. I hope you will enjoy the story. See you all at PolyU.

We are honoured to welcome Dr. Raymond Au to give a talk to our parents on 18th May 2018. He is Associate Professor (Counselling Studies) at the China Graduate School of Theology. He is an expert in Family and Marriage Therapy. Kindly reserve your time to hear him speak.

Finally, I would like to share with you two pieces of good news. Our Basketball Team got Fourth place overall in the Inter-school Basketball Competition (Division 1) and Fourth place in B grade as well. This is the highest place that we have reached so far. Well done and keep it up. Bravo! On another note, the drama production “Outsiders” was well received by the adjudicators and the audience. Our Drama Club won several awards in the Hong Kong School Drama Festival 2017/18, including Commendable Overall Performance, Outstanding Cooperation, Outstanding Director, Outstanding Performer, Outstanding Script and Outstanding Stage Effects. Congratulations!

Best regards,
Constance Cheung
