Dear Parents and Students,

As the 2018/19 academic year comes to an end, it has been a year in which we have experienced various levels of disputes, conflicts and dilemmas in society. Even though we are worried and heartbroken, we continue to reflect on the root causes of the problems. How can educators support and guide teenagers through the difficulties they are facing in today’s world, and how can we assist them in effectively dealing with stress, pressure and worries? It reminds me of the school theme for this year “Live positive life to the fullest”. It encourages us to nurture our students to build a positive attitude in order to face the challenges of life and an ever changing society. This is the core value of education. That we use peaceful, rational, and non-violent methods to understand different views of stakeholders in society, and try our best to dissolve deep-rooted contradictions in order to resolve the current difficulties.

Due to the recent controversy in Hong Kong, many parents have expressed concern at not knowing how to deal with the conflicting views within the two generations. We are going to hold a session "Discussing Social Events with Young People - Parents Sharing Session", led by our social workers Ms Leung and Ms Yuen, which will discuss how parents can build a line of communication with their children that includes mutual-respect. It will also discuss how they can share their views in a harmonious manner, especially regarding the current social issue. Details are as follows:
