Dear Parents and Students,

The beginning of the school term has started smoothly, and students have performed confidently with progress. We thank all of the teachers and staff in our school for their effort, love and sweat, so that students can learn in a safe and orderly environment with teaching arrangements as normal and as usual. We are also grateful to our parents, alumni and students for their support and encouragement. It has motivated our Pooi To community to start the academic year with love, to overcome challenges, to be united with strength, and to enlighten every single candle to continue to shine bright. Praise be to our Father.

It is common for teachers and students to start the school year with new wishes. While most teachers were busy preparing for students on 2nd September, there were also many teachers and staff standing outside the campus taking care of the students returning to school. We thank the alumni for taking care of their younger sisters during the No. 3 typhoon, and providing a path for our students to enter the campus in an orderly and efficient manner. If we have such a big family to safeguard the security of the students, why do we need external help? Moreover, the teachers had a great opportunity to gather with the alumni and help them to understand more about the current situation of the school. I feel sorry that I may not have had enough time to take care of the alumni because of my tight schedule in preparing the opening ceremony and the arrangement of first school day. Please excuse me.

It is our principle to provide an opportunity for students to learn in a safe and orderly environment with the teaching arrangements continuing as usual. However, we respected the demands of different students on September 2, and let them experience a mutual-respect class boycott. Besides, notes posted everyday near to the login machine are also sound evidence of mutual-respect for those who took part in the class boycott. We are convinced that rumours end in wise men, as stated in the Francis Prayer:

"Lord! Make me less for myself, Less comfort, but seek comfort;
Less to be understood, but to understand people; Less love, but seek love with all your heart. "

In response to the concerns regarding social media, Pooi To has decided to close the official IG and Facebook temporarily. All school news and information is now available on the official website of the school.

Let us pray again for Hong Kong.

"Dear compassionate and loving Father,
Our society is currently filled with a negative atmosphere, and emotions are running high. In the midst of this, our school and our family must not stand alone! Father, may you help us to spread your love in a place of hatred, may you help us to fill it with peace, and to own you in the scars with forgiveness; sowing confidence in doubt.

May God also give wisdom to the leaders of Hong Kong to respond intelligently to the needs of the people, so that our torn society can be reconciled, so that the wounded heart can be healed, be safe and be hopeful. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen! "

Best regards,
Constance Cheung
