Dear Parents and Students,

The school has always attached great importance to students developing morally, intellectually, physically, socially, aesthetically and spiritually. Of the six areas, moral education plays a core role. In the process of character building, there is a chemical reaction among people and incidents which enables students to take into account the lives of other students and establish positive and correct values, helping them to not only become upstanding citizens with both integrity and ability, but also lifelong learners and future leaders that contribute both to society and to our country.

With the above in mind, let’s evaluate the following attitude: "every family cleans the snow before their own doors, and doesn't care about the frost of others". It may be right to take care of one’s own affairs. However, as this way of thinking does not connect us with the hearts of others, our community and our country, how can society move forward? If we can make sacrifices and wear the shoes others, put the interests of the general public first, and work together to deal with problems, conflicts and challenges, we can make both the Pooi To community and society in general a better place to be. Unity, harmony and cohesion are important elements to connect people. By creating different learning experiences at school, students can transfer and apply knowledge and skills in different situations, nurture character formation, enhance character strengths, and accumulate positive experiences. The post-covid scenario of globalization and the new challenges of geopolitics in the 21st century have inspired our students to continue to focus on our school motto “Love, Integrity, Purity and Perseverance” to explore the various directions that life has to offer.

The school has now resumed face-to-face whole day classes. Student are enjoying campus life and activities in an orderly manner. Recently, I found shoe prints printed on the outer wall of a classroom. I believe it was caused by students unintentionally propping their feet against the wall while chatting and laughing. However, this body position is not only inappropriate, but also increases the work of the janitors as they have to then wash off the foot prints. Instead of asking the janitors to clean up the marks, it is better for the students to take care of the public areas around their homeroom, as it promotes love for themselves, their janitors and their school environment. Cleaning their own classrooms every day, together with the walls on both sides of the corridor opposite the classrooms, builds an awareness of every part of the Pooi To campus. Unexpectedly, when the students were informed that there were shoe prints on the walls, they cleaned them off immediately.

The most beautiful scenery in everyone's life journey is not the result or reward obtained at the end of the journey, but the experience gained with different people while travelling there. When we look back at the end of our lives, have no regrets and say to God, “we have done our best to do what you entrusted to us”.
