24 October 2024
Dear Parents and Students,
The Education Bureau launched the "Parent Education Curriculum Framework (Secondary Schools)" on May 28, 2024, encouraging all secondary schools, institutions or groups in Hong Kong to refer to the content of the curriculum framework when designing relevant courses or activities so that parents can learn and the knowledge and skills needed to nurture children more systematically. It includes four key elements:
(1) Understanding of adolescent development
(2) Promotion of a healthy, happy and balanced development of adolescents
(3) Promotion of parents’ physical and psychological well-being
(4) Fostering home-school co-operation and communication

Therefore, our school has established the "Pooi To Parent Academy" based on the 2024 Education Bureau parent education curriculum framework to provide Pooi To parents with learning opportunities to nurture their daughters. Through systematic and thematic seminars, workshops, courses, self-learning platforms and other activities, parents can receive sufficient support and information to achieve the following goals:
(1) Be able to fully master the knowledge, skills, positive values and attitudes that promote the healthy, happy and balanced development of their daughters.
(2) Understand and accept the unique characteristics and needs of daughters at different stages of growth, and set reasonable expectations for daughters.
(3) Understand the importance of their own physical and mental health to their daughters’ development, and learn effective family communication, skills for handling family conflicts, and ways to create a healthy and supportive family environment.
(4) Strengthen home-school cooperation and communication by understanding your daughter’s studies, values education and career planning education in school.
“Lifelong learning” refers to the elements that every member of society needs in order to adapt to social development and realize personal ideals. Parents are no exception. Parents are encouraged to choose from the five learning ways provided by our school according to their own needs and interests to achieve learning goals. The Parent Academy is based on the family as a unit and is calculated on a school year basis. Each family that participates in at least three of the following five ways of learning models and accumulates the following total credits will receive a certificate and book/gift voucher from the school as a token of encouragement.

Total credits |

Gold Certificate and 3 book/gift vouchers |
61 – 100 credits |
