This tour provided an opportunity for students to delve deeply into the economic development and urban construction of Shanghai. They could explore the factors correlating its rapid economic growth and the development of a sustainable urban and regional infrastructure. Also, they reviewed Hong Kong’s current preservation policy and thought about how to strike a balance between the preservation of cultural heritage and economic development. Meeting with the alumni to get to know more about the further study and job opportunities in Shanghai made the trip even more fruitful.
