Date: 21 May 2021 The Graduation Ceremony was a momentous occasion to celebrate the completion of the students’ secondary education and congratulate them on their hard work and accomplishments. The ceremony commenced with a prayer and a song of praise followed by the report on the school development made by the school principal, Ms. Constance Cheung. Soon after, the Supervisor Dr Eddie Ho presented service awards to the teaching and supporting staff for their years of commitment and contribution to the school. We were honoured to have invited Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung, president of The Education University of Hong Kong, to be the guest of honour. Prof. Cheung made an impassioned speech to spur on the graduates to adopt the 3Cs, which are: Cherish –Under the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, the economy, studies and communication have been adversely affected. Students should treasure life, time and relationships with others when there are lots of uncertainties in our life. Change – In the face of severe challenges, students have to make a courageous breakthrough to create opportunities to develop a better future. Communicate – Learning foreign languages facilitates better communication, which enables students to get a clear picture of different cultures and traditions in order to cultivate diverse values. Shortly thereafter, certificates and prizes were awarded to our graduates by Prof. Cheung and our school managers to celebrate their accomplishments. The audience expressed appreciation for their great efforts. To express gratitude for all the efforts the school has made to nurture them, the Righteous House Captain delivered a graduation speech while the Vice-captain proposed a vote of thanks to the school. The evening was rounded off with the School Song, sung by the audience and two hymns 《When You Believe》 and 《All Things Bright and Beautiful》, performed by our school A capella Team and choir respectively, which inspired the graduates to make good use of God’s grace, uphold the spirit of the school motto and become future pillars of society. |
