Date: 27 November 2023

The central theme of the 27th November 2023 morning assembly was the Mental Health Day, the Christian Education Committee and the Positive Education Team jointly promoted God's message and a grateful attitude. They shared that the Lord is our yoke, and Jesus wants to share our difficulties and burdens. When we are yoked with Christ and act with Him, we can walk in the right direction at the right speed.

Our school incorporated elements of promoting mental health into the activities of the Gospel and Thanksgiving Week from November 27th to December 1st. These activities include gospel bead handcrafts, prayer mailboxes, gospel tea parties, hymn broadcasts, thanksgiving Christmas tree, instant photos, mental health slogan competitions, etc. With faith and a grateful heart, we aim to enhance students' sense of connection, strengthen the protective factors of students' mental health, assist students in dealing with stress and difficulties with a positive attitude, and take care of their physical and mental health in a timely manner.

The Positive Ambassadors also introduced the box breathing method to all students in the school, leading teachers and students to practise a brief box breathing method at the morning assembly, allowing teachers and students to experience relaxation exercises and promote self-care messages. Slow breathing in the box breathing method can increase the concentration of carbon dioxide in the blood, stimulate the parasympathetic nerves, thereby slowing the heartbeat, and can help students relieve stress. The Positive Ambassadors also promoted the ‘Small Gestures for Greater Love’ action recommended by the Education Bureau to create a relaxed and caring campus space. They encourage all teachers and students in the school to make caring gestures to each other through gestures such as Butterfly Hugs, hand heart gesture cheers, and empowering gestures. Through simple small actions, they express their care and support for others, promote self-care and care for others, and increase happiness.
