The Chemistry Department and Life Planning team have organised a visit to Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works for senior form students studying Chemistry. Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works is the largest secondary sewage treatment work in Hong Kong. The purpose of the visit is to provide students with an opportunity to experience the operation and characteristics of Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works. Through model exhibitions, videos and site visits, students can understand the operation of sewage treatment processes, wastewater and stormwater drainage services and thereby increase their environmental awareness. They also learn about the work details, facilities of different sections in the Drainage Services Department, and the expected work attitudes and entry requirements.
