Flower buttons (花鈕) have been inscribed on Hong Kong’s First Intangible Cultural Heritage Inventory. This year, we invited Ms. Mak Wan-sze, a inheritor of this intangible cultural heritage, to teach Secondary 2 students the art of crafting flower buttons during Technology and Living lessons. This initiative allowed students to experience the essence of traditional craftsmanship while deepening their understanding of its cultural significance, fostering greater appreciation for Chinese cultural heritage. Over two months of learning and creating, students progressed from novices to crafting a pair of "four-leaf clover" flower buttons. Despite numerous challenges encountered during the process, their persistent efforts and resilient spirit ultimately led to successful completion, achieving the goal of transmitting this traditional skill to a new generation.

On May 16th, all students proudly wore their handmade "four-leaf clover" flower buttons on cheongsams (traditional Chinese dresses) and took commemorative photos with the principal and teachers across campus, capturing memorable moments that blended cultural preservation with contemporary education.
