Five geography students—including Lai Ka-nam (S5), Chiu Tsz-ching (S4), Lam Hoi-yee (S4), Tse Man-hei (S4), and Mak Yiu-yan (S4)—excelled in the ‘Spatial Data Sharing Platform Awards 2025’, organized by the Development Bureau’s GeoLab, securing the Second Prize in the Senior Secondary Division among fierce competition.

The competition, themed ”Co-creating Northern Space, Sharing Metropolitan Data,“ required participants to analyze spatial data to explore job-housing distribution in the Northern Metropolis and propose strategies for building a smart, livable city.

Award-Winning Project Highlights:
To enhance Hong Kong’s innovation and technology competitiveness and attract overseas talent, the team utilized **spatial datasets** (e.g., topographic maps, digital planning data, and iGeoCom) to identify optimal locations for: - Talent apartments - Cultural plazas and international communities - Low-altitude economic zones

Their data-driven approach aims to create a comprehensive talent ecosystem, fostering a more connected and sustainable urban future.
