Date: 25-26 August 2021

The day composed of four main aspects including gospel sharing, a seminar on national security education, talks about strengthening teenagers’ life resilience and their positive living, and also a workshop on positive education enhanced the professional skills of our teachers and prepared them to enhance students’ wellbeing.

Followed by a prayer and a song of praise, a gospel sharing delivered by Rev. Cheng Yee-sum reminded all teaching staff to live in the imitation of Jesus Christ, that is to focus not on oneself but on the good of others’, and also to look ahead of our struggles and the tears we shed today will be like seeds that are planted in a field that in time, through much toil and suffering, will rise to a great harvest of joy and thankfulness.

Helping students learn to manage emotions, make decisions and solve problems are key major concerns for our teachers. In order to make students stronger and more assertive, teachers learnt to better understand students’ needs and enable them to boost their life resilience and positive living in order to have the ability to overcome stressful, challenging and sometimes
traumatic experiences.

In addition, teachers were trained in communication techniques, aiming to learn to identify the best approach to deliver highly affective lessons which would allow students to flourish through
playing cooperative games.

The programme was beneficial to our teachers’ professional development as it enabled them to develop their knowledge, insight and practice in the teaching profession.
