Principal’s Message

Passion fuels innovation! I cannot think of a more appropriate slogan for this academic year. With the many
obstacles the new coronavirus has thrown our way, the school suspension period has been challenging for us all. Yet,
education has continued, and with passion and an innovative mindset, our teachers, staff and students were able to
continually explore ways to improve online education and make it work.

For many, given the technological requirements, it was not easy to suddenly start using new tools and new
methods. Implementing a curriculum online that was originally designed for an authentic school setting requires
adaptability, passion and a desire to succeed. However, the concept of rapid change isn’t new to the 21st century, which
has seen a number of technological advancements that have altered the way we do things and forced many to adapt. In
the same way, the new coronavirus has forced us out of our comfort zones. As time progresses, the world will continue
to see many more changes, and it is how we react and adapt to these changes that will define our path in life. It won’t
always be easy, but the advantage will be with those who grasp the nettle.

Speaking of which, over the class suspension period I was very impressed with the students, teachers and staff,
who showed versatility and adaptability to ensure that education continued. We still managed to hold some S6 mock
exams at school, but even those that were carried out at home were done with the utmost professionalism. I would like
to express my gratitude to all those who made it possible.

To add to that, it is incredible that we are able to publish the 17th issue of our school magazine, Clover, which offers
a stepping stone for budding journalists into the world of media. Requiring a range of skills, Clover unleashes creativity
and talent in our students and gives them a platform to shine. I would like to thank the editorial team for their hard-
work and dedication in making this publication happen.

              All the best,
              Constance Cheung,
              Principal
