Dear Parents and Students,
Spring blossoms yield autumn fruits, as time flows and seasons change. Whenever someone praises the pleasant scenery of our campus, what rises in our hearts is not only agreement but also a sense of familiarity and pride in being part of it. If asked when the campus is at its most beautiful, the answer is surely engraved in the blooming of azaleas every March and the vibrant bougainvillea in both March and November.
When the flowering season meets the sunlight, the entire campus undergoes a magical transformation. Winding corridors, classroom windows, and lush greenery are all gently embraced by a dazzling tide of blossoms, as if a beautiful aerial garden was created just for us—a dynamic piece of poetry carved out in the middle of a bustling city.
However, within our cultural context, the beauty of a scene ultimately lies in the mutual engagement between people and their environment. Fortunately, in this lively academic setting, we get to witness this most precious of interactions: Pooi To girls, though always on the move, never forget to pause for a pot in full bloom. They react gently with admiration and care reflected in their eyes. The clusters of blooming flowers seem to whisper to us with unparalleled brilliance and abundance: they deeply love Pooi To, and even more so, our Pooi To girls know how to appreciate them.
This annual cycle of blooming and wilting is like a silent, mandatory lesson in life. It softly narrates the turning of seasons while earnestly revealing the philosophy of life: as flowers strive to bloom in their designated season, we too should brave the storms and bloom courageously in our prime, radiating our unique brilliance. Pooi To is a multifaceted stage, allowing students to follow their personalities and potentials to find the right place to shine. Just as in reality, Hong Kong today faces its 14th typhoon this year, "Fung Wong." We cannot predict when the storms will strike, but by equipping ourselves well, we can face all challenges fearlessly. Even if a typhoon destroys the blooming flowers, the brilliance they once exhibited has already become a beautiful experience in life.
May we all learn to understand this silent language of flowers—not only cherishing every season of bloom, but also internalizing this wisdom of life. When it is time to bloom, let us do so to our fullest, living out our youth in its most vibrant and radiant form.
Best Regards,
C. Cheung
