Dear Parents and Students,
Looking back at the recent Chinese New Year festivities, the streets of Hong Kong once again bustled with life and prosperity, with a continuous stream of visitors from all directions. Some admired the vibrant floats and dazzling fireworks, while others delved deep into the beauty of our landscapes and culture, injecting vigorous energy into the local economy. This resurgence of vitality perfectly illustrates that Hong Kong, our "Pearl of the Orient", remains full of opportunities amidst a changing era, marking an uplifting and spirited start to the Year of the Horse. On this land of resilience and potential, our younger generation is growing up in an era that is both bountiful and dynamic. Our students must equip themselves with boundless creativity and unwavering determination to meet society's needs and become the driving force behind Hong Kong's future development. Therefore, I sincerely invite all parents to join hands with us, encouraging our daughters to cherish their time, study diligently, and explore bravely, injecting a continuous stream of vitality into the city we all hold dear.
As the Lunar New Year holiday concludes, we are about to welcome an important date in the school calendar – Parents' Day. On that day, your daughters will receive their first term academic reports. These reports are more than just a record of marks; they are an honest reflection of their learning attitudes and achievements over the past few months. I would like to take this opportunity to encourage all students to engage in serious self-reflection on their performance throughout the first term. Immediately following in March, it will be the first unified tests of the second term, making time extremely precious. I sincerely hope every student can seize the moment, set clear goals, and equip themselves through concrete actions. Genuine progress stems from deep reflection and thorough preparation, ultimately leading to a personal "transformation" in their learning journey and becoming even more outstanding learners.
Meanwhile, there is also encouraging and heartening news from our school campus. In this year's "Kowloon City District Outstanding Student Selection," two of our students, Tania Li from S3 and Angel Choi from S5, stood out and were awarded the Outstanding Student Award for the junior secondary and senior secondary sections respectively. This honour is hard-earned. It not only affirms their remarkable academic performance but, more importantly, recognizes their selfless dedication and outstanding contributions to extracurricular activities and social services. They are willing to step out of the classroom, develop their diverse potential, care for the community, enrich their lives through action, and serve others with passion. This holistic development and proactive life attitude are exactly what our school strongly advocates. They are truly role models for their peers.
Finally, I would like to share the details of an upcoming annual highlight of our Pooi To family. Our yearly event, "Arts in Action 2026", is about to commence. This is not merely a performance, but a valuable learning journey. Through participation in the creation and interpretation of music and art, students not only enhance their own aesthetic sensibilities and artistic cultivation, but also learn communication, collaboration, and how to express emotions and ideas. It is a rare opportunity to develop comprehensive abilities, crucial for their holistic growth. However, organizing a high-quality artistic learning experience annually, involving training for over 200 teachers and students, requires significant resources and expenses. Relying solely on school funding often falls short of supporting our students' artistic dreams. Therefore, I earnestly hope that if you, as parents, identify with the value of Pooi To's arts education for your children's growth, and support our endeavours in this area, you would consider making a generous donation to support "Arts in Action 2026". Every single contribution you make will be directly invested in the students' artistic learning and performance, allowing them to shine on stage. We look forward to seeing you at the performance on 24th April 2026, witnessing together the growth and achievements of our Pooi To daughters on their journey in the performing arts.
Best Regards,
C. Cheung
