02/25

Dear Parents and Students,

According to the latest forecast from the Hong Kong Observatory, Typhoon "Ragasa" is gradually approaching Hong Kong. It is expected that the No. 8 Gale or Storm Signal may be issued today (September 23) between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. The Education Bureau has announced that all schools will be closed for two days, today and tomorrow (September 24).

During the typhoon, please ensure your safety, avoid going outdoors, and stay updated with the latest information from the Observatory and the school. While classes are suspended, students do not need to return to school, providing families with a valuable opportunity to spend time together. We encourage parents to make good use of these two days and engage in meaningful activities with their children. Below are some suggestions for your reference:

1.      Reading and Learning

A typhoon day is a great opportunity for quiet reading. Parents can choose interesting books, picture books, or stories to read and discuss with their children. This not only enhances children's interest in reading but also strengthens parent-child communication.

2.      Quiet Conversation and Sharing

Amid the sound of wind and rain, take the time to sit down with your children to talk about their recent experiences, school life, and share each other's thoughts and feelings. This is an excellent opportunity to strengthen your bond and make your children feel the warmth and support of family.

3.      Watching Suitable Programs or Movies

Choose educational documentaries or movies to watch together with your children and discuss the content. This not only broadens their horizons but also encourages reflection on various topics.

4.     Moderate Exercise and Relaxation

If space allows at home, engage in simple stretching exercises to help children release energy and maintain physical and mental relaxation.

5.      Reviewing and Time Management

The first term examination week will be held from October 30 to November 4. The exam scope has been listed in this issue of the parents’ letter. Parents can take this opportunity to guide their children in managing their time effectively, creating a review plan, and strengthening their practice to build a solid academic foundation.

Although typhoon weather may disrupt daily routines, it also offers a chance to slow down and enjoy quality time as a family. We hope parents can use these activities to create wonderful memories with their children.

Wishing everyone safety and good health!

Best Regards,

C. Cheung
