Reading through these wonderfully considered responses to the novel “Wonder”, it
is fascina ng to see what each respondent takes away from the book. Some focus on
bullying and how to handle it; others see the sacrifices that big sister Via makes and
applaud her maturity. Still others speak up on the importance of friendship or good
communica on with parents. This exercise is an important reminder that engaging with
great stories is a uniquely individual experience – but always rewarding.

Bullying is a serious problem that can lead to suicide. At the least it causes psychological trauma to the vic ms.
In this book, Auggie is bullied by some big kids at school since they see him as strange. We should avoid bullying. Therefore, when we
see someone that is diff erent, we shouldn’t feel scared because we are really all the same. We are humans. We should try to talk kindly
to such people.
In order to help create a harmonious learning environment, if we see someone being bullied, we should try to help them. People who
are bullied really need our help! We should stop bullying as quickly as possible so that all students can have a harmonious and enjoyable school life.
Kindness is the core message of the book. I think everyone should be kind. We should treat everyone kindly, no ma er who they are, where they come from, and what
they look like. We should give them a hug, try to talk to them, keep them company and tell them, ‘You are not alone. We are always here with you!’
