Space Science Frontiers: “Tiangong Class”

An extraordinary journey into the cosmos has landed on Pooi To Campus!

Today (September 9), our teachers and students gathered in the auditorium to watch the live broadcast of the “Tiangong Class: Hong Kong & Macao Special Session” space lecture, jointly organized by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region, and the China Manned Space Agency. Together, they engaged in a captivating “Earth-Space Dialogue” with the Shenzhou-23 crew aboard the China Space Station.

The lesson was delivered by Commander Dr. Zhu Yangzhu, astronaut Mr. Zhang Zhiyuan, and Dr. Lai Ka-wing, Hong Kong’s first payload specialist. The session brought the wonders of space science to life through engaging demonstrations:

*Microgravity Science* – Observing fascinating scientific experiments in zero gravity.
*Space Sports & Recreation* – Watching a unique table tennis match floating inside the cabin.
*Orbital Living* – Exploring the station’s dining options, fitness equipment, and sleeping quarter arrangements.
*Mission Insights* – Hearing directly from Dr. Lai Ka-wing about her past three-plus months in orbit.

This inspiring event allowed our students to experience firsthand the rapid development of national aerospace technology and the unique charm of space life. The lesson left a lasting impression, filling our auditorium with wonder and excitement.

We hope this experience will spark students’ curiosity and thirst for knowledge, cultivate a deep interest in science and innovative technology, and inspire them to bravely explore the unknown future.
